47-year-old Sarasota man fatally hit by car crossing Bradenton street, FHP says

At 47-year-old Sarasota man was killed Tuesday morning while attempting to cross a Bradenton street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at 6:05 a.m. on 15th Street East, south of 63rd Avenue, FHP said in a news release on Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers say the Sarasota man was crossing the northbound lane of 15th Street when he was hit by a sedan.

He died at the scene.

A 29-year-old Bradenton woman who was driving the car was uninjured, FHP said.

15th Street East south of 63rd Avenue East was temporarily closed in both directions due to the crash. As of noon, it was reopened.

The crash was still under investigation on Tuesday afternoon.
