It’s a long-running debate, especially in Florida, should you pull in or back in to a parking space?

Recently, the question has come up at Sarasota City Commission meetings. Back-in parking is prohibited in most public lots and garages in Sarasota.

But the city is considering a change. At the last meeting, commissioners were divided on their preference, The Sarasota Observer reported.

One reason for the ban, that many people may not be aware of, is having all the license plates facing out allows law enforcement and parking officials to scan tags for stolen vehicles and expired tags.
