An investigation by Bradenton police may cause traffic delays downtown
Update: The Bradenton Police Department has resolved its investigation at the intersection of 6th Ave. W. and 8th St. in downtown Bradenton on Feb. 9. The investigation was not crime-related.
Bradenton police are investigating a death that could cause delays to traffic in downtown going to East Manatee, the department said in a Facebook post on Thursday morning.
At 8:33 a.m., the department posted, expect minor delay near the intersection of 6th Ave. W. and 8th St. in downtown Bradenton due to a police investigation.
Police spokesperson Meredith Frameli told the Bradenton Herald that the department was conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead in a semi-truck.
Someone passing by the semi-truck called 911 at 7 a.m. after noticing the man inside, thinking he was having a medical emergency, Frameli said.
EMS transported the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bradenton police, Bradenton Fire Rescue, and crime scene investigators responded to the scene.
Frameli said no foul play is suspected.
