22-year-old woman dead after ATV roll-over crash in Manatee County, FHP says

A 22-year-old woman died in Myakka City after six people were thrown from an all-terrain vehicle early Friday morning, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman and six other people were riding side by side in a six-passenger ATV on private property near Verna Bethany Road and Cline Road in Manatee County.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m.

According to FHP, a 28-year-old man from Myakka City was driving the ATV when he reached a “washed out” portion of the shell-packed road, causing the vehicle to flip and throw all passengers from the vehicle.

The ATV rolled over the woman before coming to a stop in the road.

She was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

The driver and the remaining four passengers had no injuries reported.

The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate this traffic crash.
