Bradenton woman killed, two others critically hurt in fiery crash with a tree, FHP says

A Bradenton woman was killed and a man and child critically hurt in a fiery crash with a tree late Saturday night in Manatee County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The wreck happened at 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of 15th Street East and 53rd Avenue East in the Oneco area, outside of Bradenton city limits.

Troopers say that the sedan was traveling south on 15th Street East. A man was driving and a 29-year-old woman and 6-year-old boy from Bradenton were in passenger seats.

For an unknown reason, the car veered off of the street and onto the west shoulder, where it hit a tree. The vehicle then caught fire, traffic investigators say. The impact sent the car rotating back onto 15th Street.

Emergency responders pronounced the Bradenton woman dead at the scene. The male driver, who has not yet been identified, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The 6-year-old boy was transported to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

The crash remained under investigation on Sunday morning, FHP said.
