Palmetto woman rear-ended by a school bus with 6 students on board, FHP says
A school bus carrying six students hit a woman at a traffic stop Wednesday on Siesta Key, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The crash happened at 8:57 a.m., at the intersection of Midnight Pass and Stickney Point Road.
A 69-year-old woman from Palmetto and her 81-year-old passenger from Sarasota were stopped at the traffic light northbound on Midnight Pass Road.
The school bus approached the woman’s vehicle but failed to brake in time, and the front of the bus hit the rear end of her SUV, FHP said.
A 56-year-old man from Sarasota drove driving the bus.
No one had injuries from the crash, including the six students on board, FHP said.
