Pedestrian dies after being hit by car at Bradenton intersection, highway patrol says

A car hit and killed a 38-year-old Bradenton man that was walking across an intersection Wednesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 27-year-old Bradenton man was driving west on 53rd Avenue West in the right lane as he approached the intersection at 36th Street West, FHP said.

The pedestrian was walking in a northwest direction as he attempted to cross the intersection, when the front of the car hit him, FHP said.

The 38-year-old came to rest in the left lane on 53rd Avenue West, and the crash investigation is ongoing, FHP said.

The 27-year-old driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, did not have any injuries, FHP said.
