A 76-year-old Palmetto man died after a car accident with another vehicle Monday at 14th Street West and Bayshore Gardens Parkway in Bradenton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man, driving a sedan, was stopped at the stop sign located at the driveway access for 6152 14th Street West before attempting to travel across the westbound lanes of Bayshore Gardens Parkway, a FHP report said.

That’s when he collided with the left side of a car traveling west in the inside lane of Bayshore Gardens Parkway, according to FHP.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 28-year-old Bradenton man, received minor injuries. The 76-year-old Palmetto man was transported to Blake Medical Center, where he later died, the report said.
