All lanes re-opened on Interstate 75 after multi-vehicle crash closed lanes for hours

All lanes of Interstate 75 have re-opened after a four-vehicle crash blocked traffic for hours Thursday afternoon.

Several agencies responded to the crash, which happened around noon just south of Fruitville Road, according to a release from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. There were at least two injuries reported in the four-vehicle crash, which included a concrete mixer truck.

A large amount of concrete mix spilled onto the roadway, and emergency crews investigated the crash while they began the cleanup process, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Two northbound lanes were closed as a result of the crash, as well. All northbound lanes were re-opened around 1 p.m. FHP announced that all lanes re-opened around 3:30 p.m.
