U.S. 41 in Sarasota reopens after gas leak
A gas leak in the 4100 block of South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota forced authorities to shut down all northbound lanes around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, but the roadway reopened two hours later.
At about 2:30 p.m., SCSO gave the all clear.
Authorities have not released any further details at this time, other than to announce the initial closure and eventual reopening.
The leak was reported near U.S. 41 and Worrington Street.
