An emergency manhole repair is shutting down a major Bradenton intersection for the next two weeks.

According to a Manatee County Government news release, eastbound 53rd Avenue West at the U.S. 41 intersection is shut down due to a required sanitary manhole repair.

The closure started on Sunday and is expected to last for two weeks.

Detour signage is in place, county officials said.

Motorists can take Cortez Road West or 57th Avenue West as detours.
