Boil water notice issued for Holmes Beach and portions of Manatee County
MANATEE -- A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for a portion of Holmes Beach.
Due to a water main break, the boil water notice was issued Monday for customers on Sunrise Lane from Gulf Drive to 5325 Marina Drive, which includes Tidemark Shoppes and Villas of Holmes Beach.
Once the service is restored, all water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution.
"A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient," according to the release. "As an alternative, bottled water may be used."
Manatee County has issued a water off and precautionary boil water notice in order to replace water valves 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday for customers from 7th Avenue Drive West to 18th Avenue West between 51st Street West and 59th Street West.
"Customer is advised that once service is restored, all water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled as a precaution," according to the notice. "A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used."
The precautionary notices will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows the water to be safe, which normally takes between 24-48 hours.
