FHP identify man who died in Palmetto crash on Interstate 75

MANATEE -- A Wesley Chapel man who died in a crash on Interstate 75 in Manatee County early Monday has been identified, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Hugh Randall Lindstrom, 57, was pronounced on scene after crashing into a concrete bridge support, which supports southbound I-275 to northbound I-75. The crash occurred at 4:35 a.m. Monday on I-75 in Palmetto, north of the exit onto I-275 in Palmetto, according to a release. Troopers said Lindstrom traveled off the western grass shoulder in a slight left hand curve in the roadway and continued to travel in a southerly direction on the western grass shoulder.

According to the release, the right front of Lindstrom's vehicle collided with a concrete bridge support and then rotated in a clockwise direction and came to final rest facing in a northwesterly direction on the west shoulder of the roadway.

There was no roadblock reported in the area.

According to troopers, Lindstrom was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
