Sarasota police seek information in shooting at mini mart

SARASOTA -- The Sarasota police department is investigating a shooting at the Star Mini Mart and is asking for anyone with information in the case to call.

Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Star Mini Mart, 2950 North Washington Boulevard, Sarasota.When they arrived they found a man who had been shot in the leg. The victim was treated and released on scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division said they have no reason to believe the public is in any danger at this time. The investigation is ongoing but it is believed the shooting began between two males arguing.
