Two-alarm fire reported at Nordstrom Rack near University Parkway contained to roof, extinguished

UNIVERSITY PARK -- A two-alarm fire that had been reported at the Nordstrom Rack near University Parkway in Manatee County was contained to the roof and has been extinguished.

At about 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, a reported fire at the Nordstrom Rack The Shoppes at University Town Center, 8551 Cooper Creek Blvd., Bradenton was upgraded to a two-alarm fire and additional units were dispatched.

"Within 13 minutes of being on scene, the crews were able to extinguish it," Southern Manatee Fire Batalion Chief Chris Gould said just after noon. "The cause is undetermined at this point."

Crews were still on scene he said, as they worked to determine the cause.

No injuries were reported.

Nordstrom Rack will be re-openly shortly," Gould added.
