Florida man on video call showing how to clean gun, shoots, kills himself

A man on a video call Tuesday night -- showing a family member the proper way to clean a firearm -- accidentally shot and killed himself, according to Miami-Dade police.

Police say Josmel Herrera, 43, shot himself once in the chest. He was taken to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where he died.

The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at 10601 SW 27th St.

Police responded to the home after receiving several calls about shots being fired.

No further details were released Tuesday night.
