Ammonia leaking from Bealls semi-truck at East Bradenton facility
MANATEE -- A Bealls semi-truck believed to be leaking ammonia from an old air-conditioning unit is being unloaded as firefighters try to get to the source of an ammonia leak, according to the Manatee County Public Safety department.
The 911 call came into the Manatee County Emergency Communications Center from an employee at the Bealls corporate facility, 1806 38th Ave. E., Bradenton, reporting that an employee had been exposed to chemicals, according to a supervisor.
Southern Manatee Fire Rescue and an paramedic unit are on scene.
The truck is being unloaded to gain access to the old air-conditioning unit aboard the truck where the leak is believed to be coming from.
One person has been treated on scene.
