Police: Drugs may have killed woman found dead in ditch in Bradenton

The body of a 37-year-old woman was found in a ditch behind a Bradenton business Monday afternoon, according to Bradenton police.

Police said the death may have been drug-related.

The woman was found in a ditch at about 12:25 p.m. behind the Big Lots located at 5584 Cortez Road W. in Bradenton.

Police said they could not confirm the cause of death until after an autopsy.

The woman’s name was not released, pending notification of family members, police said.
