Troopers looking for hit-and-run driver who caused three-vehicle crash that hurt 2 in Bradenton

BRADENTON -- A hit-and-run drive caused a three-vehicle crash in on U.S. 41 in Bradenton on Wednesday night, which seriously injured another driver, and fled the scene with heavy damage to his car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The vehicle, described as a white Honda CRV, was southbound on U.S. 41 near 49th Avenue Drive West, according to a release. The driver, described as a man with grey hair, lost control of the vehicle.

The CRV hit the front, right tire of a Lincoln Navigator also southbound on U.S. 41 in the left turn lane, troopers said. The CRV started to spin and collided with the left side of a Nissan Altima northbound on U.S. 41 in the left turn lane.

The 27-year-old driver of the Navigator was transported to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the report. The driver of the Altima was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The drivers and witnesses said the CRV has extensive crash damage and continued southbound on U.S. 41 after the crash. Anyone with further information on the vehicle or the driver can call FHP at 941-751-7647.
