More details emerge in Bradenton double homicide investigation

MANATEE -- New details from witness accounts have emerged surrounding the shooting deaths last week of a Bradenton couple.

According to reports released Monday by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, a witness who feared for his safety told investigators that Terez Jones, 33, Trey Nonnombre, 18, and Jimmie Lee Mcnear, 18, were responsible for the slayings of Esther Deneus and her boyfriend, Kantral Markeith Brooks, both 29.

At 3:51 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 3900 block of Southern Parkway West when a home security alarm system was triggered by a break-in. Police found Deneus and Brooks shot to death in their home. They had five children between the ages of 1 and 11 in the home, and police said one witnessed the shooting.

According to Mcnear's warrant complaint, the unnamed witness said the three suspects had planned a "LICK" -- street slang for robbery -- while at another person's home. The witness said the three men were armed with handguns and left in Jones' blue Nissan car on the morning of the slayings.

When they left, according to the report, one of them picked up a brick from the front yard with the intent to use it to break the glass window on the front door.

The warrant complaints includes details that were not publicly disclosed previously, including one of the subjects wiping down the front door knob prior to running off.

Another witness was interviewed by detectives Sunday. According to the warrant complaint, the witness said he was contacted by two friends on July 7 to assist in a "rip,"or robbery. One of the friends mentioned is rumored to be involved in the incident.

According to the second witness, he was told that they were looking to rob Brooks and said he was driving the vehicle and "escorted" four individuals including Jones, Nonnombre and Mcnear.

According to a report, the witness told investigators they returned back together and discussed the robbery.
