Manatee traffic stop turns up big bag of heroin
MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office seized a large amount of heroin during a traffic stop Wednesday, according to a report.
About 1:45 p.m., a detective saw DominicK Day, 23, driving a car, and knew Day did not have a valid driver's license.
A gang unit detective saw Day driving and conducted a traffic stop at 6820 15th St. E. in Bradenton.
As Day and a passenger were removed from the vehicle, the detective smelled marijuana, according to a report. A search revealed 7.6 grams of heroin, a digital scale, smaller baggies used for individual sale of heroin and $988.
Day was charged with trafficking in heroin, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. He was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
