Class of 2016

Highlights of Bayshore High’s graduation

Number of graduates: 317

Speakers: Graduates Paige Labarr and Nathan Whitehead

Shining moment: Graduates Kelly Jo Starcher and Michael Mejia serenaded their classmates one last time, but added fellow senior Deshawnd “Shawn D” Johnson’s act last minute. Johnson wrote and performed a rap part toward the end of Starcher and Mejia’s rendition of “I Believe” by Fantasia Barino.

Best quote: “Most of us were responsible for our new found freedom, but others needed a subtle reminder: ‘Will the student who drives the green Mazda ...please come to the front office because you’ve locked your keys inside your car and it’s still running.’” said Labarr to a burst of laughter as she reminisced about her high school years.

Interesting sight: The first beach ball of the ceremony was tossed as soon as the last graduate’s name was announced. The red and white ball was confiscated quickly.
