SCF president name head of FCSAA executive committee
Carol Probstfeld, president of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, was recently tapped to serve as the president of the Florida College System Activities Association’s Executive Committee.
The FCSAA is a statewide, nonprofit corporation regulating, coordinating and promoting intercollegiate activities, including athletics, brain bowl, forensics, music, student government, student publications and theatre, according to officials.
“It is an honor and privilege to carry on the college’s tradition of serving the Florida College Systems Activities Association,” Probstfeld said in a statement. “The association’s impact on academics is rich and diverse, as is its contributions in the performing and fine arts. Athletically, the FCSAA has offered Florida students an environment of competition that has propelled them to the national stage.”
The FCSAA has helped Student Government Associations emerge as important voices in the state legislature, as well as at the national level. State competitions and educational programs have helped students become some of the most elegant speakers and quick thinkers in the country.
