State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota to start pilot program for veterans this fall

The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota will offer veterans only classes this fall to connect veterans enrolled at the school.

SCF Veteran Services is piloting a program by offering a written communications 1 class exclusively to veterans who may feel more comfortable sharing experiences in the class, according to a release issued Thursday.

According to the release, the classes are designed to help the veterans build a peer network within the SCF community. Veterans will have a chance to meet, discuss experiences and embark on college careers in a supportive environment, according to the release.

Classes will be offered from 12:30-1:50 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at SCF Venice.

A permit from SCF Veteran Services is required to register for the class. Call 941-408-1446.
