State College of Florida Collegiate School student wins speech scholarships

A State College of Florida Collegiate School junior has won more than $3,000 in scholarships from Florida Exchange Clubs.

Kaitlin Folsom recently won the Americanism Speech Contest, including a $500 scholarship, sponsored by the Sarasota Business Exchange Club. She also won a $3,000 scholarship May 14 at the Florida District Convention in Fort Walton Beach.

At the event, she was also asked to sing the national anthem, and John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

The SCF Collegiate School student will present her speech during the National Exchange Club Convention in Houston July 13-16, according to officials.
