Manatee JROTC team tops Florida Best Raider Competition

Three two-person teams from Manatee High School JROTC recently participated in the Florida Best Raider Competition.

The Sarasota Military Academy event was to determine the best two-person teams in Florida. A total of 37 male teams and 13 female teams participated at Camp Shannon in Myakka City.

Buddy teams from Manatee High were Colin Rottes and Brandon Sanchez, James Thrall and Austin Stump, and Jhakira Glover and Rachel Nicaragua.

Rottes and Sanchez won first place, earning the trophy for the winners’ school and medallions. Rottes won with his brother, Louis Rottes, last year.

Glover and Nicaragua took third in the female category. Thrall and Stump ranked sixth in the male category. This is Colin

All Manatee competitors have at least one more year of high school.
