Take Stock in Children to host tennis fundraiser

LAKEWOOD RANCH - After a successful first year, Take Stock in Children is hosting another tennis tournament fundraiser to bring in more funds for scholarships.

The not-for-profit program helps low-income children to achieve academic and personal success with the help of college scholarships and personal mentors who volunteer from the community. In addition to the tennis fundraiser, which is in its second year, Take Stock hosts a major run in the spring to help raise funds as well.

The tennis festival is scheduled for April 30 at the Lakewood Ranch Tennis Center. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a legends exhibition at 3 p.m. General admission to the event costs $10. A $50 VIP admission ticket allows viewers a chance to mingle with some of the tennis legends who will be at the event.
