Witt Elementary School in East Manatee seeks funds for outdoor classroom

EAST MANATEE -- Witt Elementary School in East Manatee County is constructing a memorial outdoor classroom to honor its namesake - Gene Witt.

Witt, a renowned educator and leader who spent 38 years in the School District of Manatee County, served as superintendent from 1983 to 1994. Witt died in February 2015.

The school is seeking donors to help cover the cost of the outdoor space which is a tribute to Witt's passion for nature and wildlife.
