Former Gator, NFL quarterback Danny Wuerffel, to speak at Community Christian School fundraiser

BRADENTON -- Danny Wuerffel, Heisman Trophy winner will address supporters and donors at Community Christian School's first annual fundraiser benefit.

The event is planned for Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. and follows a breakfast at 9 a.m. in the school's auditorium.

Wuerffel will speak at a Bradenton Christian School fundraiser at 7 p.m. on Feb. 26. Tickets for the dinner event are $150.

Wuerffel currently serves as executive director for Desire Street Ministries based in Atlanta. Desire Street Ministries organizes resources and assets with the objective of bringing back to life some of the most downtrodden neighborhoods.

Tickets and sponsorship information are available at communitychristianfl.org. All proceeds will benefit the renovation of the CCS athletic fields.

Community Christian School is a ministry of Community Baptist Church and was started by its fourth pastor, William Martin, in September 1968. The school opened under the administrative leadership of Bill Allan with only fifty-seven students but grew quickly to an enrollment of over three hundred students.
