Registration open for Manatee County library's teen fashion show

BRADENTON -- Registration is now open for the Third Annual Teen Recycled Fashion Show run by Manatee County Public Libraries.

Manatee County Public Libraries' popular event, in collaboration with The Friends of the Library and Keep Manatee Beautiful, gives teenagers the opportunity to live the day in the life of a fashion designer and/or model. The fashion show will be held April 16 from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Downtown Central Library, at 1301 Barcarrota Boulevard West.

Contestants make their own original fashion using recycled or repurposed materials and present their creation on the runway in front of a live audience where a panel of judges select a winner based on creativity, presentation and use of recycled materials.

Contestants must be no younger than 13 and no older than 19 and can submit as an individual or as a group.

The registration form can be accessed on the Manatee County Public Libraries' Website at mymanatee.org/library. It can be submitted online or printed and dropped off at any of the county's six library locations. Registrations must be completed by April 8.
