Manatee County students prepare for 'Yes, We Can DANCE'

BRADENTON -- Thirteen teams from ten Manatee County Schools will strut their stuff during the annual "Yes We Can DANCE" showcase.

The teams will have two performances March 5 at the Neel Performing Arts Center at the State College of Florida, one at 4:30 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. More than 275 students are involved in the production, which organizers say is "a collaborative effort of all the teams who just want to show off Manatee County's dance talent all in the same venue."

Tickets are $5 and are being sold by each group, with proceeds going to the individual schools. "Will call" tickets are $6 and can be purchased from Helen Dolbec at 941-792-8274 or bhsmabear@verizon.net.

If tickets are still available, they'll be sold at the door for $6 at the 4:30 p.m. performance and $8 for the 7:30 p.m. performance.
