Mathcounts results at a glance

About 150 students from Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto counties cmpeted Friday in the regional Mathcounts competition at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School.

The top four schools: 1, Pine View School; 2, St Stephen's Episcopal School; 3, Brookside Middle School; and 4, Buffalo Creek Middle School.

The top 10 individuals: 1, Jack Gallahan, Pine View; 2, Pragnya Govindu, Pine View; 3, Augustus Bayard, St. Stephen's; 4, Chris Patrick, Pine View; 5, Tyler Popp, St. Stephen's; 6, Edward Shen, Pine View; 7, Maria Erquiaga, The Classical Academy of Sarasota; 8, Peter Etz, Venice homeschoolers; 9, Nicholas Butakow, Pine View; and 10, Catherine Van Kueren, St. Stephen's.

Note: The top two teams and two additional individuals advance to the state competition April 1 in Orlando.
