State College of Florida receives funding for nursing scholarship
BRADENTON -- A $5,000 grant will help the State College of Florida Foundation create a scholarship for nursing students.
The grant money came from the Venice Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers and will create the Hospital Volunteers of Venice Excellence in Nursing Scholarship Fund at SCF Foundation.
To qualify for consideration of this scholarship, an applicant must be a resident of Florida for tuition purposes, be considered a full-time enrolled student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average each semester, and be accepted or enrolled in the associate's or bachelor's nursing degree program at SCF. Student must reside in the Venice Regional Bayfront Health Service area (South Sarasota County). The student also must attend the SCF Scholarship Luncheon and Hospital Volunteers of Venice (HVOV) Fall Breakfast.
