School District of Manatee County earns B in latest report. See your school’s grade

Manatee County Schools earned a B grade again on the state’s latest report card, but the district was just two points shy of an A.

Superintendent Jason Wysong, who rounded out his first year on the job in July, said he was pleased with the district’s 2023-2024 rating. The district has received an overall B grade for the last seven years.

“With support and inspiration from talented teachers, staff, and administrators, students across the district demonstrated significant growth in reading and mathematics,” Wysong said in a statement provided to the Bradenton Herald.

Wysong said he was proud of the gains made at several schools.

Wysong highlighted some of the other 10 schools that improved by at least one letter grade. Abel Elementary went from a B to an A and Ballard Elementary rose from a D to a B.

He also noted that two schools received their best grade ever. Tillman Elementary School and Parrish Community High School earned their first A in history.

Manatee school district earns B in FL report

Of the district’s 64 schools, 24 earned an A, 11 earned a B, 25 earned a C, four earned a D and none earned an F. One school, Manatee Virtual School, received an incomplete.

While most schools earned the same grade as last year, eight dropped by one letter grade.
