Manatee school district plans interviews and job offers at virtual fair for teachers

The School District of Manatee County has announced a virtual job fair for teachers.

Scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on May 8, the job fair is moving online as a precaution against COVID-19. The school district plans to interview K-12 teachers and offer contracts during the event, according to an advertisement on Manatee’s website.

Starting teacher salaries range from $45,232 to $47,731. Incoming teachers will join more than 6,000 employees and approximately 50,000 students in Manatee County’s public school system.

“When class lets out, there are plenty of things to do . . . boating, fishing, baseball games, golf, art museums, concerts and of course, watching a sunset at the beach,” the advertisement states. “It’s no wonder that Manatee County is a magnet for people looking for a great place to live and work.”

Brazen, a platform for virtual career fairs, will host the event on May 8, when Manatee works to fill about 90 job postings, according to Wendy Mungillo, the district’s personnel director.

Email stromans@manateeschools.net or call 941-708-8770, extension 41052, to register for the event.

“The School District of Manatee County is located on the beautiful and vibrant west central coast of Florida,” the advertisement continued. “We are just an hour’s drive south of Tampa and two hours from Orlando.”
