SCF wants to usher you into the workplace. Check out seven new career-prep courses it is offering
The State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota is expanding its course offerings this fall to help more students get the certifications necessary for landing a job.
The new courses include:
- The Advanced Lean Manufacturing Certificate — a 12-credit course that prepares students for engineering technology support positions;
- The Automation Certificate — shows that students can operate and troubleshoot industrial automation systems;
- The Criminal Justice Technology Specialist Certificate — a 24-credit-hour course preparing students to work in law enforcement, corrections, private/industry security, and other criminal justice, legal or public service fields;
- The Homeland Security Specialist Certificate — a 9-credit hour program that prepares students for employment in law enforcement, homeland security and other public- and private-sector fields;
- The Network Infrastructure Certificate — a 21-credit-hour program that prepares students for entry-level employment in information technology;
- The Biotechnology Specialist College Credit Certificate — a 19-hour program to make students more competitive for life science and quality assurance positions;
- Green Belt Six Sigma Certification — a 12-credit-hour course covering methods used in Lean and Six Sigma, such as continuous flow, overall equipment effectiveness, process mapping, cellular manufacturing, design for manufacturing and value steam mapping.
