The School District of Manatee County is running Camp S.N.A.P. (Science Nature Adventure Program) for eligible fourth-, fifth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Title I students. The camp exposes lower-income students to outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking and dip netting.

Students will build oyster mats, examine organisms under a microscope, explore marine life and learn about how human activity impacts the environment. And students will visit different environmental sites each day, including Coquina Beach/Leffis Key, Myakka River State Park, Robinson Preserve and The Florida Aquarium.

S.N.A.P. has partnered with the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network, WayneAdventures, Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources and Florida State Parks.

The camps run through June 22.
