Building the new library and learning center at State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota will officially get underway next week.
State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 9 a.m. Oct. 3, next to SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center.
The groundbreaking ceremony is set to take about one hour with a welcome and opening remarks. A reception will follow.
The 64,000-square-foot library will be under construction through 2017 with an expected completion date of January 2018. The Florida Legislature approved the project and set aside $17.68 million for building this important community resource. The SCF Foundation is working to raise more than $1 million for equipment and furnishings.
