Youths arrested in mobile-home park burglary

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported late Saturday that five male juveniles were arrested Saturday afternoon after they attempted to enter a residence in the 900 block of 51st Avenue Drive West in Bradenton.

The report said the young men were turned away by the homeowner at about 4:46 p.m. as they attempted to gain entry into a home in the Pic Town Mobile Home Park. They fled, were located by a sheriff's deputy, according to the statement, and were identified by the victim.

The parents of the youths were notified, the report said, and were at the scene when the juveniles were interviewed. During the interview, mention was made of a second break-in in the same park. The items that had been taken were recovered, the sheriff's report said, and the youths were arrested on complaints of burglary and attempted burglary.

They were taken to the Juvenile Booking Facility.
