School district employee threatens suicide
A Manatee County school district employee was taken into protective custody under a Baker Act after threatening to walk into traffic on Manatee Avenue West in front of the school district’s administration building, according to the Bradenton Police Department. At 12:28 p.m. Saturday, police were contacted about the man threatening suicide, according to a police report. The man was located and taken to Manatee Glens.After-hours notification was made when police learned the man was an employee with the school district, according to the report.
