Manatee man grabs woman by throat, robs her cell phone

Deputies were called to a house Friday after a man reportedly grabbed a woman by her throat, took her cell phone and fled, according to Manatee Sheriff’s Office. At 10:15 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the 5000 block of 18th St. W. in Bradenton, according to a report.The 39-year-old woman and Johthan Irwin, 45, had gotten into an argument and she tried to call 911. He reportedly grabbed her by the throat, took the phone and fled in an unknown vehicle, the release said. She went to a neighbor’s house and sheriff’s office was called.Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate Irvin.
