Death of man whose body was found in wooded area under investigation

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a wooded area Saturday.

The sheriff’s office was called to a wooded area near the northwest corner of Colonial Drive and New England Street in Sarasota to reports of a dead body, according to a news release.

The victim is believed to a white male in his late 20’s to early 30’s.

No other details were immediately available as the investigation remains on-going.
