Masked robber hits gas station

A masked robber got away with cash from a Venice gas station early Tuesday, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The suspect entered the 7-Eleven/Mobil gas station, located at 1698 S. Tamiami Trail, at 3:19 a.m. He was described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds.

While wearing all black clothing, gloves and a mask, the suspect robbed the clerk with a knife. He fled from the gas station southbound on foot.
