Manatee jail inmate charged with throwing urine at deputy, nurse
A Manatee County jail inmate was charged with throwing a cup of urine at a deputy’s face around 9:16 a.m. Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Lens Toussaint, 24, of Palmetto, was in a cell at when a deputy and a nurse approached for a medication pass. When the deputy opened the food hatch, Toussaint reportedly threw a cup of urine at his face. The urine went into the deputy’s eyes, up his nose and down his throat. Some urine also splashed the nurse’s leg, deputies said.
Deputies reported seeing liquid on the floor just outside the cell. A Styrofoam cup in the sink showed some yellow liquid remaining, according to the report.
Toussaint was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. He was held without bond, according to the sheriff’s office website.
