Manatee A credit card skimmer was discovered at Crazy Papa’s convenience store and gas station on Thursday, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A consumer protection specialist for the Florida Department of Agriculture discovered the skimmer during a routine inspection at the 4720 53rd Ave. E. location.

This follows a skimmer found Tuesday on an ATM at the SunTrust Bank in Lakewood Ranch. It was placed at 4:51 p.m. and only in place for a short time before discovery, according to Dave Bristow, sheriff’s office public information director.

The sheriff’s office Tuesday released photographs it says shows someone putting the skimmer on the ATM.

It is currently unknown how long the device has been at this location. Detectives are still investigating. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
