Man charged with dealing drugs in Sarasota

A Venice man has been charged with repeatedly selling drugs to undercover detectives over the past several weeks, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeremy Bettis, 34, was arrested Tuesday, after he sold heroin to an undercover detectives in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 6600 block of Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, according to a news release.

During a search of Bettis’ car, detectives found almost 15 grams of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription pills, according to the report.

The sheriff’s office said he had sold heroin, cocaine and marijuana several times to undercover detectives over the past several weeks.

Bettis faces numerous counts of possession and sale of drugs. He is being held in the Sarasota County jail on bonds totaling $63,500, according to the sheriff’s office.
