Manatee deputies arrest 2 men, 1 woman on drug charges
Two men and one woman were arrested at 12:50 p.m. Thursday on drug-related charges following the execution of a search warrant, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The arrestees: Sam Casimir Jr., 21, was charged with possession of rock cocaine; Modesty Young, 33, was charged with possession of marijuana and resisting without violence; and Jean Merime, 29, was charged with trafficking in heroin, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon. According to a release, they were arrested at a residence in the 4500 block of Ninth Street West, Bradenton.
Detectives with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division investigated a residence for selling narcotics, deputies said. Casimir, Merime, and Young were at the home when the warrant was executed.
During the search, detectives reportedly found a trafficking amount of heroin, along with smaller amounts of marijuana, rock cocaine and Adderall. Detectives also seized a .22-caliber rifle and a .25-caliber handgun, according to the release.
No injuries were reported. Booking information was not immediately available on the sheriff's office website.
The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff's office said.
