A Sarasota bank was robbed about 2:33 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

The robber made off with an unknown about a cash, after he indicated to employees of Wells Fargo, 5701 Bee Ridge Road, that he had a weapon.

The suspect was described as a man in his 40s standing about 5-foot-8, with a thin build. He was wearing a green shirt, khaki shorts, brown hat and red and white sneakers. The suspect is believed to be in his 40s.

After the robbery, the man fled in an unknown direction, the Aviation and K-9 Units have established a perimeter and are searching for the suspect, according to the sheriff’s office.
