Bradenton driver killed when car crashes into palm trees along Interstate 75
MANATEE -- A Bradenton man died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 75 just north of the Linger Lodge Road overpass, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Taariq H.A. Ephraim, 22, was driving northbound in the left lane of I-75 at about 5:10 a.m. when his 2004 Nissan Altima traveled partially into the median, according to an FHP report. Ephraim over-corrected, crossing over the roadway and into a line of trees. The vehicle struck several palm trees before coming to rest on its roof, the report said.
The FHP report did not indicate whether a seat belt was in use or if alcohol was a factor.
