Bradenton woman, 21, cited for crashing into Manatee County school bus
MANATEE -- A 21-year-old Bradenton woman was cited after crashing into a Manatee County school bus at 8 a.m. Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Wintcha Joseph was cited for improper tag display, a learner's permit violation and defective equipment. The collision took place near the intersection of 58th Avenue Drive East and Fifth Street East, according a report.
Troopers said Joseph was westbound on 58th Avenue Drive East and the county school bus was southbound on Fifth Street East.
As Joseph approached the stop sign at the intersection, she braked but her vehicle failed to stop and entered the intersection, its front colliding with the left side of the bus, which had nine students on board.
No one was injured on the bus, troopers said.
Joseph sustained minor injuries in the crash but was not transported for medical treatment, according to the report.
